You may have seen the term 'wedding stylist' and wondered what they actually do, as it a fairly new term to the wedding industry and there maybe some confusion when looking for any help. The latest trends in weddings have swayed couples more in the direction of working with stylists to make their day more personal and unique.
A stylist will be charge of the aesthetics, which means they are in charge setting the scene of your venue and bringing all the design details and decor together.
This role would suit any couple who knows that the style of their day is important to them and want to wow their guests, but they are not quite sure how to bring it all together to look how they want it to. It is also suited to couples that do not have the time to style their own wedding. You may have too much on already and want to enjoy the pre wedding celebrations rather than having the stress of doing it yourselves.
A stylist will work with you with consultations and brainstorming to get to know you as a couple and find your unique style. Creating mood boards, colour palettes and coming up with suggestions to bring a vision together for you. They will work with all the stationery, floristry, tableware, and furniture elements. Each stylist has their own way of working and own unique services they offer.
The idea is that when the couple walk into their venue, they will be blown away with what the stylist has produced for them with their thoughtfulness and creativity.
Some of the things a stylist may do are:
- Consulting with the couple to discuss their wedding day vision
- Designing a personal style for the day, from the ceremony, to lighting, florals, colours, décor and furniture etc.
- Putting together an inventory for everything needed to complete the design and source or provide all the items from their own range
- Being there on the day or the day before to set up, to style and pack-down the venue.
