Let's chat about Bespoke Stationery
What is bespoke stationery design?
Bespoke stationery design is something that is tailor made, just for you & your event. It can be really hard to find stationery that matches what you are trying to convey. Finding the right colours to match your colour scheme, finding the perfect style, and also finding something that helps you create the vibe you are going for. How long have you already searched for the perfect stationery and excites you enough to get ordering? This is where having a bespoke design made for you, can help you achieve all those key things in one go, and save you a ton of time in the process too!
Why should you choose bespoke design?
We have already discussed how choosing to work on a bespoke design can help you match your event perfectly. It can help you set the perfect tone with an invitation, or it can help you complete a vision with on the day stationery pieces. It helps you make your whole event, from start to finish feel cohesive. I absolutely love working on new stationery designs, whenever I have a new idea for a styled shoot I choose to make something bespoke, or when I am working with clients one to one, we tend to lean towards this way of working. This is because it will be especially made to match all the design elements for that event, which makes the whole thing completely unique. I do have a gorgeous 'off the shelf' collections in my shop that I am very proud of, and work beautifully with rustic and boho styles, but let me ask you, why have something someone else can choose, when you could have something no one else has had at their event.
What is involved with bespoke design work?
When working on a bespoke design I carefully select colour card & envelopes, colour foils, fonts, illustrations and finishing touches based on all the design elements of your event, to make it personal and meaningful. Which includes the type of event and venue you're hosting, style, colours, vibe and personality. It's as simple as us chatting about what you're looking for and I can suggest lots of ideas that I think will work for your event based on what you tell me.
What kind of thing do you like to work on?
As with all my work I love to design with nature. This is the stuff that lights me up and I will confidently produce my best work when I am in this zone. I have a wide selection of botanical illustrations to work with but if there is something I do not have in my hoard I can easily source what I need to bring your design to life. I have a wide collection of plants, greenery, succulents, cactus's, foliage, leaves, trees and much more to get the creative juices flowing.
Does it have to be a whole collection?
Not at all, I appreciate every event is unique, therefore the stationery pieces needed to bring it alive will differ. It could just be an invitation set, it could just be 'on the day' table stationery pieces or a you may need a creative idea for a unique seating plan. I am very open and flexible with the way I work, so no suggestion is too small.
Is bespoke expensive?
No it isn't expensive. You can look at my 'off the shelf' stationery to get an idea of how much the individual products cost. But when it come to creating something new, I will provide you with a quote based on whether anything new is needed to create it, and how much time I will need to design it.
Do you have any examples of bespoke?
Yes I do, here are a few examples of stationery I have created in the wild.
Here I created fun table numbers, drink name tags, arched menus and a table plan for a tropical oasis theme, which was for a concept I designed for wedding open day. I used a mixture of light gold foil and copper to compliment the warm tones used in the colour palette.
I added a slot in the cards for table plan to be fed through the colourful ribbon which hung from this display stand. I love how it blew in the breeze.
I was asked to make stationery for a dusky blue styled shoot for spring time at Baumber Walled Garden in Lincolnshire. I created light blue table numbers that folded and flat menu cards to compliment the classic white, blue and silver colour palette. I used a swirly font to add a romantic and elegant touch to the tables.
I designed and created these wooden chopping boards for a couple that got married at Scrivelsby Walled Garden in Lincolnshire. Their love language was food, so I came up with this fun seating plan for their guests to find their seat. I used chalk pen to create the faux calligraphy and displayed them using wooden crates, fresh greenery and succulents to compliment their boho garden theme. Their were so pleased with the results.
I designed these menus for a spring wedding open day at
Stockwith Mill in Lincolnshire. The design brief was big and bold with hot pink as the main colour scheme. So I used blush pink card and hot pink foil with a fun retro style font for a modern twist for there quirky afternoon tea menu. The slim menu card looked fantastic paired with their fuchsia pink napkins on their rustic wooden trestle tables with vintage crockery.
