Lincolnshire wedding designer and stylist

Hey there & welcome to my cosy little nook of the internet. I'm Rea, country lass, creative maker, qualified wedding stylist and self taught stationery designer who has an obsession with all things botanical. I absolutely love helping non-traditional couples who are looking for alternative styling ideas to create a wedding design that represents them as a couple.

A little back story for you, so you know how I got here...

I originally trained as a hairdresser and beautician when I left school, and then spent my early twenties making my local community look the bees knees with my mobile service. Offering not only hair appointments but a wide variety of beauty & holistic treatments. Fun parts for me included hosting make up parties & making up the bridal party for weddings, which was always special to be part of.

But it was when I was planning my own wedding day in 2014, I discovered my new creative passion. As a life long crafter it was natural for me to throw myself into every project possible to create a day that reflected us through and through. I even made our own confetti, attention to the little details is my thing if you hadn't guessed!

I totally fell in love with the whole process of styling and creating bespoke pieces for our chosen tipi space. I felt it was what kept us super motivated and excited through our planning journey, and our wedding really did feel and look like us. This is why I feel so passionate about helping other couples do the same. I really do believe the more you connect the dots between you and your decor the more excited you will feel to share it with your guests.

I was in my element and after it was all over I knew I wanted more. So, I gradually swapped my hairdressing scissors for craft scissors and set myself the mission to help others create their own dream wedding too. I started designing stationery and then the passion just grew and grew as I fell more in love with the industry. 8 and half years on and I love being more involved in the couples day now with my styling qualification. Using my experience, knowledge I've gained and creative skills I've learnt to help couples create a cohesive design they are totally obsessed with.

My studio space is nestled in Lincolnshire, where I have grown up all my life, which is why I am highly inspired by the countryside, and I love to bring an element of nature into my work. I have a true passion for all things botanical, so I love visiting garden centres and pottering in my green house in my spare time to get inspired. I am obsessed with buying plants, I adore the colours and vibes of the autumn season and I love getting out in the fresh air in my free time to walk among the trees with my Yorkshire terrier Billy and hubby Chris.

Why I chose alternative wedding styling?

When I got married, the done thing was to use real flowers to decorate, but this just wasn't me. I didn't dislike them, they just weren't me at all. (I'm sure you get me, or you wouldn't be here right?) I had to think of an alternative way to decorate our space so that it felt like us. Being a keen crafter I set to work and used a mixture of fabric and paper to bring my vision to life. This experience is literally what has shaped my wedding business. The thought of other couples like me having to choose real flowers that they don't really want because they are neither crafty, or they don't know what else there is to choose from, makes me feel really sad. So I set out to offer couples fun alternative styling options such as plants, fresh greenery and dried florals to create something that aligns more with you.

It's important to me to work on design briefs that really light me up, so I can get lost in all the details, as I want to create the best results for the couples I work with. My style is relaxed, fun & natural, so if this sounds like what you want your wedding to be like, we may just be a perfect match.

I aim to provide a down to earth, friendly, helpful and supportive service so that you have lots of fun while your planning your wedding and it feels stress free. You'll find I'm always laughing, quoting lines from films and raving about my seeds that are growing in my green house. My favourite part of a wedding is when the couple have tied the knot and the guests all clap the happy couple, I am literally holding back the happy tears.

I also enjoy serving up lots of ideas and tips so you feel inspired along your journey.

Whatever I have created in my life people, I have always been told I have a really good eye for detail. I will 'faff' until I am happy as I care deeply about every inch of what I am producing.
