When beauty brand 'Just my Look' got in touch with me to create a tablescape for their reset retreat at Bainland Lodges in Woodhall Spa, I couldn't wait to be involved, so I jumped at the opportunity. Bainland was somewhere I loved visiting back when me and my husband were first dating. He would take me to visit there swimming pool for date nights and we'd go at weekends to play golf, so I was really excited to see the transformation since it's been updated.
Once I discovered more about the Just my Look brand, why they were hosting this event and what their guests would be doing when they arrive, I could start planning how I was going to help bring their vision to life.
I was excited to weave the details they shared with me into their design, so that the tablescape helped set the tone for their cosy retreat as each guest took their place. Using their brand colours and the event purpose to create something that fit there brief perfectly.
The brief was cosy, relaxing & intimate, and the event was to be all about wellness. They were going to be doing yoga, using the hot tubs, having a private chef come to cook them a 3 course dinner and having a cosy movie night on the biggest sofa's that I've ever seen in my life! Although the event was a week before Christmas, the event was for content creators attending to share in the new year for that fresh new start vibe.
The colour scheme they were after was a calm neutral palette with earthy tones, with beige and light brown. I was keen to add a touch of black to bring in their main brand colour and it also matched the dining room chairs which I noticed after they sent a photo to me. They also wanted to add a touch of dusky pink which I was excited to incorporate as it added some more interest and just lifted the design.
Now I had the all important details, including the story & colour scheme, it was time to get my creative juices flowing.
I was super keen to keep the flow of the event as the guests go about their day, so when they sit down at the table it all made perfect sense.
To add relaxing spa vibes, I styled the table with my natural jute runners down the centre and put decorative stones inside the glass candle holders for the pillar candles to sit on. I created dried flower arrangements with delicate floral choices and floaty pampas grass inside stoneware bottles to place along the table.
To add the brands main colour, I included small touches of black accents with black metal candle holders, napkins with a black trim and smoky black tea light holders. Which also tied in beautifully with the black dining room chairs.
I brought the tiny touch of blush pink through, with dried hydrageas next the products and ribbon bows on the candles.
Lots of warm flickering candlelight was included at different heights to create a cosy, relaxing & intimate atmosphere. It was a rainy morning on set up day but that didn't matter, as inside it was even more cosy with the lodges existing mood lighting and my flickering candles.
I dotted perspex display stands around the table for the brand to include their beauty products, which they told me they wanted to showcase at the event. Which would create a talking point for all the guests as they dined.
It all came together beautifully on set up day and the brand were really happy with the results. Before I left the team told me how having the table decorated really transformed the space and made it all feel finished. They felt like their guests were in for a real experience.
