Your wedding stationery is one of most important key elements of your wedding day. If it wasn't, how else are your guests going to find out when the big day is? But when it comes to figuring out when you need to send your invitations and save the dates, it can be a little bit confusing. You want to send everything in a timely fashion so I have you covered below. To help keep you on track with all your stationery pieces you decide to include, I have a handy stationery timeline and checklist that you can download here for free.
Save the Dates
As soon as you have set your date for your wedding I would recommend sending your save the dates as soon as possible. A good time is 1 year before the wedding. This gets your guests ready for the year to come so they can start to plan around it making sure they are available for it. It is not too long either to wait, so they will feel excited. A save the date is most popular when couples are getting married abroad, so guests can start planning early.

Invitations
You should start thinking of sending your invitations about 8 months before the wedding. Take time to select your style and colours as this will be the very first thing your guests will receive to do with the wedding, so it wants to set the tone for the day. A guest can tell a lot from the invite, the style, the colours, the font,  and the language used. This is their first insight into the date, the place and the time so make sure it is clear. If you need some help deciding on the style of your stationery to match the style of wedding you think you want there are some handy tips in this blog post.
RSVPs
When choosing your invitations, remember to include an rsvp date, so you have a deadline when your guests need to reply back by. You want to start receiving your rsvps back about 1 month before the wedding. Remember, you still need to give your final numbers to the venue, caterer, and also to create the table plan.

Thank you's
If you receive gifts or money after your wedding it is polite to send out thank you cards 4 weeks after the wedding. This gives you enough time to have your honeymoon period and go through all the cards & gifts you received.
