•Posted on November 05 2025
It can be really tricky deciding how to display your wedding seating plan can't it? No matter how many amazing ideas you come across on Pinterest, you're still left wondering what on earth to do for your own. One of the most common reasons, why couples find this task so hard whilst wedding planning, is because they haven't taken the time to think about the connection between the idea and themselves.
Deciding how to display where your guests are sitting would be a lot easier for you, if you weaved your love story, your interests, and your wedding style into the design concept.
In this blog post I hope to inspire you with some creative ideas that I have designed for my wedding couples. I will also be sharing how I connected each table plan to the couples, which made them feel more excited about displaying it at their wedding reception, as it had a personal and unique touch.
Table plans are one of those areas in your wedding reception that will get a lot of attention because one, everyone will need to look at it to find where their sitting, but mainly because table plans are now known as a really fun area to bring your personalities and love story into your wedding design. Long gone are the days when you just plonk up a basic board on an easel and it's job done. No no, this is 2025 and things have definitely moved on in the wedding industry. Table plans have levelled up, so it's time to think outside the box.
I just love helping couples transform this mundane necessity into a captivating, eye catching & personal display, that turns finding your seat into a memorable moment.
I offer this as a service, so if you looking for a stationer to help creating yours from scratch you can check out this page that all the info.
Let's take a closer look at some of the designs I've created to inspire you.
Bespoke chopping boards for fond foodies
I designed this creative suggestion for one of my couples who's love language was food. They were real foodies going to pub together every Sunday for a roast dinner & loved trying new meals whenever they went out. The wedding breakfast they chose was also going to be sharing patters for the guests to enjoy, so I came up with the idea to create some wooden chopping boards to display on a table for them. My husband helped me cut out the wooden shapes, which included a wine bottle, to mix up the design, as they had quite a few tables to display. They were carefully stained, then I wrote in chalk pen the guests names. They turned out so well and the couple were so excited by the idea. I styled the whole thing with decor from my prop catalogue including wooden crates, fresh greenery & succulent plants to compliment the couples rustic sage green garden theme.

A greek inspired seating plan
The idea for this table plan with terracotta plates, came from my couples proposal story. The groom popped the question to the bride whilst on holiday in Greece on a cliff top. The couple shared with me how much they enjoyed travelling to mediterranean countries and the groom especially, had a real appreciation of different food, enjoying his cooking at home for both of them. I suggested we used these terracotta plates to not only tie all these elements in that were connected to their story, but it also matched their colour scheme which was an autumn rust. The couple absolutely loved the plate idea I came up with and they couldn't wait to see it in real life.
I helped them clearly visualise the display I had in mind, to show it off with a digital mock up. On the day, I used wooden crates to create height for the display so the position of the plates were different, adding more interest. I styled with wicker plant pots filled with fresh olive style foliage and zesty citrus fruits to add a nod to their Greek story. I also used chalk pen to write out the guests names on the plates which made a really nice contrast.

How to add your own twist
I also really love coming up with table plan displays to inspire my couples, that use my individual seating plan cards & luggage tags from my shop. They can provide you with endless options to get creative. And if there's not something to match your style, I can create you a bespoke design to help bring your vision to life.
Vintage Book Table Plan
I styled these torn edged table plan cards I sell in my shop inside vintage books and apothecary style wooden drawers for a unique look. This would be perfect for couples who love reading, who want to create a vintage style wedding, or that want to include their favourite love stories into their wedding design.

I created these dried moss table plan cards which are perfect for a forest theme wedding day. They would perfectly compliment a winter wedding full of lush greenery or a magical Christmas wedding, set in the enchanted woodland. You can find them here in my shop.

These luggage style table plan tags are a bespoke design I made for a wedding open day, which I displayed on a vintage wooden ladder with vintage bottles filled with fresh flowers. This look is perfect for an afternoon tea style wedding, vintage wedding style or garden theme.

These are just a few of my favourites, so if you want some more ideas you can head to my table plan section of my shop here.
