Handmade

Guests love anything handmade! Whether you have sourced it from someone else, had some outside help or made it yourselves, handmade is always going to win your guests over. The fact that extra time and effort has gone into making something from scratch, means that your guests will appreciate these touches so much more. We went to town with our handmade touches because this is such of huge part of who we are as people. But even if you just make some favours, your guests will really appreciate your efforts.

The Playlist

Our guests raved about our music after the wedding. We just chose what we liked and what we knew our immediate family would dance to. My husband arranged the songs so they made sense in terms of era, as our first dance was Etta James 'At Last' Guests were commenting afterwards how well it worked. That was something we didn't think anyone would even notice!

The Food

We wanted to have a relaxed approach when it came to dinner, and it was in the middle of the summer, so we opted for a barbecue buffet style for our wedding breakfast. We had a lot of choice when it came to meats, salads, and desserts, so this way everyone could choose what they fancied and go up as many times as they liked. I have been to weddings before where they have had only one choice of meal, and this is where it gets hard to please every guest as it's a bit limited. So if you can have some choice for your guests they will be much happier. All I can say is that we didn't have any compliant, so that speaks for itself!
