Wedding Decor Trends 2023

It's that really exciting time again when we get to look at what decor is trending in weddings for the coming year ahead. I am wedding stylist and a bit of a magpie when it comes to the details, so decor is kind of my thing! So get ready for my take on what we will be seeing more of this year!

Vivid Colours

Couples are embracing colour and going all out with fun combinations including colours that speak volume. Vivid pinks and bright orange are making there way into weddings more and more so expect to see more of these colours. Perfect for retro styles and festival weddings.

Rust Weddings

Pinterest Predicts in their trend report for 2023 which you can read here , that colours such as copper, terracotta and burnt orange are going to be appearing in real weddings within the next year. This is very exciting as these colour tones are right up my street and look amazing. I have a variety of decor props that fit well with this theme including terracotta plant pots and amber bud vases. (as shown in the images below)

Coloured Glassware

We have seen a boom in coloured glassware and it is most certainly here to stay! Think candle holders, tea light holders, water goblets and bud vases, there are so many beautiful colours available now, meaning that you are spoiled for choice! Choosing coloured glassware can really elevate your table decor to the next level and give it that all important wow factor.

Display Areas

We have seen a massive increase in couples putting more effort into displaying their key areas. Showing off their wedding cake, creative table plans and welcoming their guests in style to their reception. With large signage, crates, backdrops and cake stands, this trend is what couples are loving for sure.

Large Installations

Making a statement so that you stand out from other weddings is a key priority to modern couples. Whether it is a ceremony archway, a fun backdrop for photo opportunities or epic displays suspended from the ceiling like floating ladders, couples want the wow factor more than ever!

Disco Balls

If you think disco balls are tacky, think again!! Disco balls have made it into the world of weddings and they look absolutely amazing!! Any lights will bounce right off them and will liven up your decor no end. They come in all different sizes so can be incorporated into your key styling areas or mini disco balls can be added to place settings for a fun look! Obviously the dance area is a key fun place to add them!

Simple Stationery 

It's nice to have all the bells and whistles for your stationery, but if you are after something more classic, then simple stationery pieces are trending for 2023. The black and white combo will always look stylish and pairs up with lots of the other trends right now like black metal, so its a great choice.

Decorative Wax Seals

Wax seals are the ultimate finishing touch to stationery and in 2023 we are seeing more creativity being added to them. By adding foil flakes or dried flowers, your stationery will go up a notch for sure. As well as using them on invitations, they can be used among your place setting design to add an extra layer of interest and help tie in all your other table elements.

 Fun Lighting

Neon lights are still going strong and really add something different to a wedding. You can get them in all different colours to fit in with your theme. And you can even get them specially made with your own design or wording. How cool is that! Festoon lighting has been replaced with Edison light bulbs which give a cool, edgy vibe, perfect for modern weddings.

Black Metal 

We are seeing black metal come more into weddings which is from home interior trends. Black candlesticks, photo frames and larger pieces give a stylish look and a great alternative to the typical gold colours. It looks great styled for modern weddings with an urban edge.

Sustainable Favours

Couples are more conscious than ever of not wasting their money, especially on things their guests won't want. Sustainable favours such as plants or seeds to give away, is a considered choice which doesn't cost the earth.

Hanging Lamps

This trend is set to get even bigger going into 2023. Lamps can be found in all shapes and styles due to the amazing availability we now have in our leading homeware shops. We have popular rattan style and geometric shapes, not to mention edison style light bulbs to add tons of character perfect for industrial styles. These make some truly stunning styles come to life with a true element of design involved.
