When Amelia & Josh got in touch with me to help them style their wedding venue at the gorgeous Scrivelsby Walled Garden, I just knew it was going to be so much fun helping them bring their vision to life. They already had an inspiration board full of ideas for their day, but they had conflicting styles mixed together, which was making it difficult for them to decide which direction to go in, so that everything made sense and looked cohesive.
The couples laid back nature and complete trust in the full design process, allowed my creative juices to flow, in order for me to really enhance all best bits. After our first consultation to get to know them more, I found out some real treasures, I could use to help them tell their love story and help them add their personalities into the design details.
To start the process I created this mood board for them which I named 'Boho Garden', to capture the essence of the vibe they were after. Which was a relaxed atmosphere, that felt fresh and delicate.

I then moved on to their style guide which outlined what all the key areas would look like, so they could easily visualise each area. All with decor suggestions I made that aligned with their vibe. Here is a little glimpse of how all the decor ideas looked on paper. It includes a colour palette, photos, detailed descriptions and even table scape mock ups to give the couple a better idea what decor will look like laid out.

If you are styling your own wedding venue and you like to design like a pro, you can purchase my wedding design booklet in my digital shop, it's the exact template I use every time I'm designing for a styled shoot, open day or real couple. It's an easy drag and drop template using canva which is free to use so you can quickly build your own wedding design.

Here is the brides feedback, when she received her style guide;

OMG this is amazing! I am so excited, thank you so much, you've put together exactly what I was thinking, but made it 100 times better. I am so so grateful.

Here's how all the details came to life.

My garden trellis structure made the perfect ceremony backdrop, it not only fitted in with the beautiful garden setting, it helped frame the couple when they were saying their vows to each other. I styled the wooden planters with fresh greenery, lots of pampas grass, fan palms and delicate gypsophila. A sage green drape floated over the middle for a romantic touch. After the ceremony was finished, I quickly moved the structure to inside the tipis behind the sweetheart table, so that it created a beautiful focal point for the couple. This is becoming more and more popular with couples re-purposing decor some where else as at the ceremony, it is only displayed there a short time.

Tall wicker vases were placed either side of the aisle, styled with a mixture of pampas grass and dried greenery to create instant impact as the bride made her entrance.

A fun confetti station was styled on a table for guests to help themselves. Personalised paper confetti cones filled with dried eucalyptus leaves for a natural touch, were styled in wicker baskets. Green vintage bottles and candles helped set the tone perfectly.

The ceremony table was styled with little decor glimpses of inside, with vintage glass bottles with dried florals and floaty fabric draping. A perfect way to sign the register.

The couple had branded their wedding 'The Good Wedding' on their wedding website and invitations to guests, so they were really keen to continue this theme into the day somehow. I created them a personalised wooden sign, that made a lovely keepsake for them after. I styled it on my peacock chair surrounded by plants to create a warm welcome as guests walked inside under the magical tipi canvas. You can read more about bespoke decor here.

The decor I helped them choose for the tables, felt fresh and natural, perfectly set for a relaxed dining experience. The couple chose sharing platters with their catering company, so I was mindful not to over decorate them, and to leave space in between for bowls and boards to be placed. Sage green chiffon runners were placed down the centre with green vintage bottles and rustic bud vases filled with dried floral delights, and low tea lights added a soft glow. White chair sashes sashes made the venue feel a little more romantic and elegant.

Each place setting was set with a seagrass charger, rustic menu cards from the my rustic charm collection and a bespoke eucalyptus paper napkin wrap which was wrapped around the white linen napkins with bunny tails to finish the look. I placed the round tag shaped guest names on the rim of the wine glass's for something a little different, and it added another delicate touch to the details.
I added some fun ceiling decor to tie everything in with my seagrass lampshades, which I styled with fluffy pampas grass and greenery. They hovered over the tables for guests to see.

The table plan was a fantastic opportunity to weave their love of food into their design. So using the sharing platter idea, I designed and made these wooden chopping boards from scratch to get the sizes and shapes I wanted, creating a  creative mixed display. I used my chalk lettering experience to add the guests names, laid out as the tables were, so it easy and clear where to find their seat. I styled it up with my vintage wooden crates, fresh greenery and sweet succulents plants to pull the whole look together. I literally had so much fun bringing this to life for the couple. Bespoke props are really what take a design to the next level, they are a great way of added that unique flavour to your decor and provides your guests with a brand new experience.

The couple were really keen on including a neon sign somewhere for a bit of fun, and they loved my faux greenery wall, so we decided to put the two together and make a fun photo backdrop in the chill out zone. When the party got started, the couple could really enjoy taking photos with their loved ones with a lush backdrop, helping them capture cherished memories, to look back on in years to come. I was thrilled they had space for it, as it's one of my favourite props, that has so many uses.

The couple had a cheese and pork pie cake which I styled on a wooden barrel with some faux eucalyptus.

The couple also booked an audio guest book which added a relaxed vibe to their day so guests could sit and leave fun messages to the couple. The decor fitted in perfectly with the style.

I enjoyed working with this couple so much, their brief was right up my street, which allowed me to fully immerse myself in their story and design, which is when I can produce my best work. I was lucky enough to be there as they tied the knot hiding inside the tipi, waiting to re-locate decor, and when I heard the applause from guests it made me feel very emotional. It's so lovely to be a small part of what couples's day's are all about. And that my friend is LOVE!
