Rustic romance tablescape design, garden inspired with lilac and green colour scheme
This was the first tablescape design I created for a wedding fair in May at The Walled Garden in Baumber in Lincolnshire, which is based not far from me. They supplied me with their beautiful rustic tables, which can be used as a sweetheart or top table for a wedding, or they can be used to dine in their garden room for an intimate gathering. They are perfect for combining a rustic romantic style together. The aim for the fair (as I'd not done one for a little while) was to showcase my signature style to couples, so they got a real taster of the kind of vibe I love creating. This design was created using my own personal taste inspired by using what's available in the garden this time of year.
Here's how I choose to dress them to inspire couples visiting on the day.
Calming & Romantic Colour Scheme
I chose this colour scheme of soft lilac and sage green to provide a calming atmosphere on the tables. I included a mixture of earthy brown shades, warm gold and a pop of white to lift the palette, so it felt suitable for summer weddings. It provided a warm and welcoming vibe that the drew guests over. It showed how you can use colour to add lots of charm & character to your reception, without it feeling too much.

Eclectic table decorations that tell a couples story for a lived in look
I chose to style all the table decorations at a low level, so the dining experience felt intimate and allowed for connection among the guests. Adding a tiny bit of height with tapered candles to add interest. I used an eclectic mix of green vintage bottles and brown stoneware which have tons of character and story to them, which makes the tables feel warm and lived in, rather than using the same traditional pieces on repeat. This mix and match approach to styling keeps the table looking more interesting and creates a relaxed feel that makes guests feel more comfortable and at ease.

Fresh flowers meets dried grasses for a relaxed centrepiece
For this tablescape design I decided to create a fresh flower arrangement for the centre of the table, this kind of piece can be used for styling the front of a head table or it would work well for long banquet style tables as show here. I have used a variety of evergreen greenery, cows parsley, catmint, chives and scabious flowers, and arranged it like it's all been picked from the garden. (as it was!) I used a mixture of dried grasses to give it a wild look and kept a loose structure for those relaxed vibes. Using longer delicate pieces throughout the arrangement like this, allows guests to freely chat across the table to each other without larger blooms blocking their view. I added a variety of delicate stems to each bottle which was just enough to keep the flow of the design down the centre of the table.

Rustic place settings with textured finishing touches
I styled each place setting with a wicker charger mat, a green linen napkin which was tied in a knot, with a sprig of purple dried sea lavender for a pop of colour. I believe it's the finishing touches like this that make a real difference, as guests appreciate the extra effort to make individual pieces personal. I used my sleek gold and white cutlery and I placed a slim gold foil menu and separate name card with wax seal for some texture to complete the whole look.

Chair decor with floaty chiffon bows
I added these sage green chiffon bows to a few of the chairs, which elevated the seating. This is nice touch to add for making the happy couples seats extra special to the rest. And you could even add them to a top table so they are a bit different to the other guests seats. They helped tie everything in and just gave a nice bit of movement as the guests take their seat.
