When I met Jemma & Kyle at a wedding open day at Stockwith Mill, I instantly knew they would be a pleasure to work with. Being a Lincolnshire lass myself I understood the importance of their design brief when we had out first consultation. Outdoorsy & relaxed with a sense of their country roots. I literally couldn't wait to get started on their design after getting to know them a little bit more. They told me they wanted to include lots of colour featuring cornflower blue to match the bridesmaids dresses and Jemma really wanted to incorporate some milk churns & lots of florals which I was more than happy to deliver. This is how I pulled the rest of their design together.

The Mood Board

Here is the couples mood board which gave us our starting point with the design, for the colour scheme, style of decor and vibe.

Bespoke Signage

I created a bespoke design for the couples welcome sign and table plan to tie in with their roots. Using a Lincolnshire phrase 'Now Then' to greet their guests. I used a cornflower floral design to add some interesting pattern and compliment the many flower displays, and Jemma had shared her dress with me, which was had gorgeous floral details.

Decorations

With the larger flower arrangements I used metal watering cans & milk churns to add a rustic countryside vibe to the decor.

The Ceremony Area

Cornflower blue fabric draped over the pergola and two milk churns filled with dried flowers stood each side. I lined the aisle with plants in hessian sacks to provide a rustic entrance. The table was styled with a white cheesecloth runner and stoneware bottles. I sourced the most beautiful colourful confetti for the guests to throw at the happy couple after they tied the knot. It made the beautiful open field setting their own.

Table Decor

For the couples tablescapes I styled them with dusty blue cheesecloth runners for texture, wicker charger mats, white linen napkins, stoneware bottles, clear glass vases filled with dried flowers & low tealights. Keeping things relaxed for afternoon tea to be served to the guests.

Colourful dried flowers

Dried flowers I chose were based on the colours of the mood board, including light pink, yellow & blue. The previous year when the couple had booked me I grew some cornflowers from seed in my own garden to use in the couples design. I also included dried wheat, oats & bunny tails to add touches of the Lincolnshire countryside.

Bespoke Stationery

As well as creating bespoke signage for the couple, I also created their table stationery. I made rustic flag style table numbers so they could be inserted in the bottles and name tags with frayed blue ribbon for each guests place setting. If you would love something made just for you and your tables you can take a look at my bespoke design service here.

The milk churns were moved from the ceremony area so that the couple could enjoy them all evening.

It was an absolute joy helping the couple bring their vision to life, working on their bespoke pieces that helped share their love story with their guests & show cased their roots. I thank the couple for putting their full trust in me to deliver their wedding vision for them.

The Couples Feedback

We recently had our wedding at Stockwith Mill and Rea was an absolute dream to have on board. From the moment we first enquired at the start of our planning journey, right up until the very day itself Rea was always on hand to answer any queries or styling questions I had, no matter how small or silly. We wanted our wedding to showcase everything that we stand by, being outdoorsy, farmer-y and incredibly relaxed. Oh my goodness did Rea deliver. From the milk churns at the ceremony area to the dried wildflowers on the tablescapes and not forgetting our welcome sign and table plan. It honestly could not have looked any better than it did. We owe Rea everything, and we will always be thankful that she helped our visions come true.
