Organic green, gold and white tablescape

This tablescape design was inspired by what's growing in my garden in July. We are in peak summer season now, and the weather has been so kind to us these last few weeks, with all the hot weather we've had, my garden is full of lush greenery and delicate flowers, so it was time for some creative play. With this look, I was keen to show a classic colour palette that wedding couples still adore today and it would also look lovely styled for a garden dinner party. It's fresh, it's natural and it provides all the rustic, elegant feels you could want, and it feels like a story is being told with pieces that have history.

An organic colour palette for a relaxed gathering

I wanted to create an organic look, so I used earthy brown tones, varies shades of green, white to lift it into the season and splashes of gold, to keep a warm and cosy vibe. It's a classic rustic wedding style that couples seeking a relaxed and fresh vibe want to create. It's also the perfect dining table for a warm and welcoming dinner party if you want to bring a bit of the outdoors in.

Fresh foliage and delicate flowers for a laid back dining experience

I'm currently fascinated by the varies shapes of leaves there are. I learnt recently from a gardening expert, Adam Frost, to not just chose plants for the flowers, but to look at the leaves they have, so that you get a mixed variety. It makes a garden or flower arrangements in this case look way more interesting. I was keen to play with my lush fern plants and my Dahlia plants which I have grown from tubers this year for cut flowers, and I have lots of delicate white flowers growing in abundance throughout my space, that I knew would be perfect for this look. I also added wild grasses, Ammi, some thistles and white lavender, which I managed to buy from a garden centre. I have included a little bit moss as well, to make it feel like it's all straight from the garden, which it was!

Telling a story with vintage decor that has history

I can't get enough of using my vintage stoneware, so here they are for another design. This just shows how much they can be used to create multiple different looks, if you look back at previous designs in my portfolio. I like mixing and matching my pieces with sleek cutlery and modern candlestick holders to balance the heavy and robust nature of the bottles. I've also added old worn books which adds lots of vintage character and shows you don't have to just use florals to style your table. A book laid flat made the perfect stand for one of my folded table numbers with luxurious wax seal styled on top. I think it's important for the table numbers to feel part of the design, so there integrated into the look, so that it doesn't look like an after thought. Obviously this is for wedding reception, when you'll need to indicate which table is which for guests to find their seat. Other table decorations I have used in this table design is a chiffon & tulle table runner which adds great texture, emerald green wine goblets, and lots of candles at different heights to add a romantic and elegant vibe.

Give guests a warm welcome to their place setting

Each place setting is styled with seagrass charger mats, dark green linen napkins tied in a relaxed top knot, stylish white and gold cutlery, gold foil menu cards and wax seal name cards. Wax seals make a great tactile element to the cards, for guests to touch as they pick them up to take a closer look. Guests also love the shine of the foil, turning it one way then the other. It provides guests with an experience the minute they sit down to eat and will enjoy it all the more.
