Natural vintage romance wedding tablescape with dusty pink colour scheme

This was the second tablescape design that I created for a wedding fair I was attending in May at The Walled Garden in Baumber in Lincolnshire. I wanted to design something that complimented their venue really well, if couples were looking for something subtle and romantic. The aesthetics were thoughtfully chosen to work with the space provided, so the couples could easily visualise it dressed for the whole room.

A natural brown and dusty pink table setting for garden styles

The colour scheme I chose was very natural to compliment the rustic tables I was going to be dressing. I used a mixture of earthy browns & greens, pops of dusty pink tones and a hint of aged terracotta. I also added pops of matt silver with the cutlery & there was a touch on the tea light holders. It felt very natural and romantic with a nostalgic vibe which was created with vintage pieces I used. It would be perfect for couples looking to style their space with a warm and subtle design. I think this would look beautiful inside a rustic barn venue or in a garden setting.

Vintage table decorations for a nostalgic, romantic vibe

I love using an eclectic mix of table decorations which make the tables feel welcoming and homely, instead of styling with mass produced centrepieces which can feel a little corporate on repeat. I much prefer creating a low level look so guests can have meaningful conversations across the table to each other. Building a little bit of height with old worn books and vases to make it look captivating. I stood the books up so they wee among the other decor to show it doesn't always have to be about vases of flowers, you can use other things to fill out the look. Then I used some as a main centrepiece so the flag shaped table number was better on view for guests to find their seats. My mix and match items were made up of aged terracotta pots, green fluted vases, earthenware bottles and crystal tea light holders. While they were all quite different, the pieces looked unified for this design. I always thoughtful add any finishing touches that elevate the whole look and really do make a difference when guests sit down to take a closer look. It's these little things and my attention to detail that makes a design come together like a dream.

Potted herbs and dried florals for a homely cottage garden look

To lift the neutral tones of the table and to add some freshness, I added greenery to the design in the form of fresh herbs. Rosemary, sage and thyme were styled inside my small aged terracotta pots which also added a sensory experience as guests dine around the table. They are some of the most fragrant scents in the herb family, so will make your space smell lovely, as well as look beautiful. I used dried larkspur and wild grasses among these for a textured but delicate look that felt like it was straight from a cottage garden.

Romantic natural place settings

I styled each guests place with a wicker charger mat, natural linen napkins I had made myself, which were tied with a dusty pink chiffon ribbon and finished with a sprig of rosemary and a personalised drink straw. I then added a rose gold foil menu with a name tag attached with a stylish paper clip to match the colour scheme.
