If you would love a bohemian style for your wedding day, but the popular neutral colour scheme doesn't float your boat, what about trying something different?

I wanted to design a fun tablescape for laid back couples who are seeking a relaxed wedding day with plenty of character. Those that aren't shy of embracing their bolder personalities and 1970's retro style. Maybe you've chosen a tipi wedding venue or an enchanting woodland to tie the knot in, and you want to bring it to life with some complimenting earthy tones. If this sounds like a dream, you'll love these ideas!
Let's explore how I brought the table decor together to get this colourful boho look, so that you can re-create something similar for your own day.

Boho Colour Scheme

For this look I have used a rich, deep and dark colour palette with vivid purple, burnt orange and teal touches which provide an indulgent earthy vibe. It's warm and inviting and full of vibrancy. It makes you want to sit down and enjoy the fun dining experience. This colour palette would work really nicely for an autumn wedding as the colours would blend in with natures outdoor surroundings. But I can also see it working perfectly for couples that want to get married near Christmas time as the dark jewel colours with the decor feel very luxe.

Linens

I chose a teal chiffon table runner to dress the wooden table down the middle which was laid over a woven table runner which added lots of extra texture and paired beautifully with the charger mats. The terracotta linen napkins were tied in a top knot for a casual vibe. And a rustic style menu cards were placed on top with individual dried bunny tails. If you need some more inspiration for styling napkins this blog post is full of ideas for you.

Decor

The decor I chose to bring the tablescape together was an eclectic mix of smoky black tea light holders, amber glass vases, stoneware pots and seagrass charger mats. It gave a natural vibe with vintage elements and helped provide those earthy tones.

To fill the vases I used a mixture of fresh and dried flowers with some greenery, I used eucalyptus as it works well with all styles. I included verbena which I absolutely adore as have loads of in my own garden, it really worked well with the colour palette and looked stunning against the dark teal table runner. It really pops doesn't it, so vibrant! I loved how the colour palette just came to life once I added that purple colour. An amazing contrast. This is what I love about experimenting with ideas, coming up with un expected colour combinations!
