Halloween is a really fun time of year to get creative and decorate your home for spooky season. Here in the UK it's definitely becoming more of thing to style your front door with cute pumpkins and seasonal wreaths to welcome guests inside, and I am so here for it. Any excuse to decorate right! I'm going to be inspiring you today with some ideas for creating a moody halloween tablescape. This will help you set the scene if you're planning a halloween dinner party with friends and you want to serve up a fun seasonal feast with some sophistication.

The Vibe
My aim for this table design was to create an intimate ambience with timeless decorations. I wanted a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere so the decor pieces I chose had a very grown up feel to them. Perfect for the adults to dine at!

Table Decorations
I used a black and linen checked tablecloth for a subtle patterned background, modern black candle holders at varies heights, that allowed for adding dried moss and seasonal treasures in the base. I added these black lanterns which looks so stylish down the centre. I used a selection of brown glass bottles, two toned wine glasses, smoky black crystal tea light holders and some vintage books stacked in the middle of the table for a centrepiece.I scattered a few green acorn pumpkins, conkers and acorns among the dried moss which I added for character and brought the season inside.

Foliage
I used a dark green trailing ivy, feathers and a selection of wild grass and birch branches. I wanted to keep the foliage quite simple as the table was quite busy already, so these delicate touches was just enough to bring it all together.

The Garland
I hung my black and white happy halloween garland on my kitchen shelves to decorate behind the table. It made the perfect backdrop for dinner and helped complete the whole look.

Place Settings
I used a seagrass charger mat for a natural touch, layered with white plates, laid stylish black cutlery either side and styled with a black edged trim napkin. I finished with my happy halloween drink straws from my shop and laid a black and white striped ribbon bows on top which you can find here.

I was so pleased with the overall look, it came out just as I wanted it. Timeless, effortless, moody and intimate.

If you love how my halloween tablescape turned out and you'd like to create this look for yourself at home for your halloween dinner party, you can find my happy halloween garland here, my fun drink straws here, and my ribbon bows here.
