This tablescape design was inspired by my mother in laws beautiful reddy-pink hydrangea bush in her front garden. She asked me if I wanted to pick some for my next tablescape, so how could I refuse!? It's very late summer and the garden is still providing some little treasures that we can bring inside. So if you have some hydrangeas then snip some off before the weather turns on them. You can also dry them, so that you can enjoy a display throughout the winter months.
Let's dive into how all the elements I used to create this table came together.

Colour Palette

The Vibe
Seeing as I had the hydrangeas in full bloom to play with, I wanted to create a tablescape that felt opulent to show them off. Using elegant decor pieces to make the dining experience feel luxurious. The candlelight helped create an elegant setting which transformed into a romantic atmosphere in the evening, as you will see below. I just love the way the coloured glassware really comes to life with the glow of the candle light shining through. It creates such as mood!

Table Decorations
My tablecloth was one I had made with some linen fabric, it was a gorgeous olive green colour which worked perfectly as the base foundation. It really helped the red and pink tones stand out and even complimented the subtle garden green shades in the hydrangeas. I placed the flowers in my handmade rustic bud vases, and wicker plant pots to match the charger mats. I added green wine goblets which added fantastic texture, with a blush pink frayed ribbon bow on the stem to add some more luxury finishes. I used clear crystal candle holders and vintage style tea-lights to add warmth at different heights. This added so much more interest!

Place Settings
I used white scallop plates to add a pretty touch on top of the wicker charger mat. I laid a floral patterned napkin over the plate to add interest and styled with my bow menu card template which are perfect for hosting, in berry red. This really made everything come together and created that opulent look I was aiming for.
I think the whole design looks enchanting and perfect for a late summer dinner party. Whether it's a get together with friends or a celebration.
