Hey there, why not join me for a cuppa..

Lincolnshire wedding designer and stylist

Hey there & welcome to my cosy little nook of the internet, I'm so glad you're here! You better put the kettle on and join me for a cuppa, as this is where you'll get to know me, hear about my business journey so far, and learn all about what inspires my current work. I hope you find it an interesting read...

So now you have your chosen beverage at hand, let me introduce myself properly! I'm Rea a born and bred Lincolnshire lass, and I love living in the rustic countryside with my hubby Chris and my Yorkshire Terrier Billy. Who are both utterly lovely by the way! I love spending time in my garden, going for woodland walks, having my family over for dinner and enjoying an occasional trip to the movies.

Where it all started..

I started out in my career as a mobile hairdresser and beautician, making my local community look the bees knees. It was a very enjoyable and rewarding job and loyal clients became dear friends of mine over many years. My favourite parts were when I hosted make up parties for groups and was involved in getting bridal parties ready for weddings. So many lovely memories were made.

After many years I let this go, to pursue a new creative dream, which was born when I diyed my own wedding day. I have always been a keen crafter from a young age, so making all my wedding decorations, stationery & bridal accessories for it was a no brainer for me! I made everything from my save the dates right through to the confetti. Yes really, I was totally obsessed with all the little details! (still am!)

I chose to do this, because I simply couldn't find what I was looking for. We chose a tipi to hold our wedding reception in, but I couldn't find anything (decor, stationery or accessories!) to help us reflect our personal style and help us tell our story. I didn't like bling and we felt far from traditional! I didn't want the bog standard approach, how dull! No, I was super keen to add our personalities into our design. I dedicated a huge amount of time to bring our own vision to life, but I can say hand on heart, our wedding day truly felt and looked like us.

I also knew, I couldn't be the only one who felt like this!

It was after this event I was inspired to open an Etsy shop in 2016 to sell my wedding creations, which really took off. I wanted to help those couples who were looking for alternative options to suit their casual style. For couples that weren't at all crafty themselves or didn't have the time like I did to make everything from scratch.

I chose to use hot foils for my stationery creations as I think this is the ultimate wow factor. I remember when I received a wedding invitation in the post back in my hairdressing days, of a foiled design. I was totally obsessed with it! Turning it one way then the other to see the shine! I immediately wanted to learn how to do foiling myself. So without hesitation I got myself the equipment and away I went!

After a few years if creating wedding stationery, I began to realise that styling all my products to inspire my customers, was a very high priority of mine.

So during the covid pandemic, I trained as wedding stylist, which felt the perfect way to express my growing creativity and share my unique blend of skills I'd build up over time. I have really enjoyed helping couples over the last few years bring their dream vision to life. It's been an absolute dream come true, I achieved way more than I ever thought was possible and it's been a real pleasure helping couples with their plans.

Time for shift..

Since entering my forties, I've been feeling like it's time for slight shift, I've been feeling the pull to go back to where it started. I am fully embracing my gardening era and a slower pace of life, I have to admit, so as much as I enjoyed being a wedding stylist at the time, there were a few aspects of it that didn't align with the lifestyle I long for. I'm a proper homebody at heart you see, and I love my free weekends!

I decided to take a step back from styling real weddings to concentrate on product creation, where it all began, as nothing makes me happier than coming up with new ideas to inspire my customers, then creating the orders from scratch with my hands to send out of the studio.

What the future holds..

My focus now, is on creating gorgeous stationery for weddings, and other special events, I particularly love table styling, as I love hosting dinner parties myself, so you can expect lots of options to help you bring tablescapes to life. A lot of my stationery can be used for other celebrations such as, engagements, bridal showers and anniversaries. I also create invitations and other on the day stationery pieces to help you bring your event together.

New Additions

After creating many beautiful arrangements for weddings, I caught the bug for it big time, so I started growing my own flowers to dry to use in my own work, this really inspires me, so I started designing a new range of bridal accessories, which is perfect for rustic wedding styles and boho brides. With this extra time the collection can start to flourish which excites me no end! I love creating new things , so if you have a request for a bespoke creation, you can get in touch about it, using my contact form here.

Styling is in my blood, so it will always feature heavily in my business, so it will be the driving force behind my work. The best place to get inspired on how to style all my creations is on my blog here.

My inspirations

My work is inspired by lots of different things, but at the core is my love of the outdoors and nature. I love sharing what inspires my stationery collections and how growing my own flowers to dry for my accessories influences what I create. You can read about that more on each collection page and I'll often share these things in my email list, called The Nook, which you can join here, if you'd like to hear more about it.

Making room for new ideas

Being a multi-passionate creative, I love having a variety of projects to work on. When one door closes another door opens right?  I have also been wanting to start mentoring for wedding suppliers, to pass on my knowledge and skills that I have learnt, to help them build a thriving wedding business of their own. I have created a helpful blog covering topics around content creation and sustainable marketing strategies to help you grow your wedding business organically. I have also created digital tools to help empower and support wedding suppliers too, helping you reach your potential and your goals. So if you are a wedding pro, you will be able to find more information about it at Confetti Creators Corner here.

I hope you are excited to join me in this new chapter, as who knows where it will lead.
