It can be a bit of a minefield when it comes to choosing your wedding decor. Not only have you got to make sure you have enough of everything, you also have to make sure the style of decor you choose fits in with the aesethic of the venue and your style. Like I say, it can be a minefield getting it all right.
Today I wanted to share my top tips on how to choose the right wedding props. So let's dive into it shall we!

Pinpoint your Style

The first thing you want to do in order to choose the right props, is to pinpoint your wedding style. Each piece of decor should reflect your style and the vibe you want to create. So for example; if you are going for elegant an romantic, you want to make sure you choose slim decor made of glass, which would be the perfect fit.
The nearer it get's to a couples wedding day and they have taken on the decoration of the venue themselves, I often hear couples say 'We are worried we haven't got enough decor to fill the venue.  Some of the time it is just a panic moment, but for lots of couples taking a diy approach, this is actual a real scenerio. Couples massively under estimate how more decor they need to make an imapct. Remember you are putting your own stamp on a blank venue so the last thing you want after all this hard work, is for it to fall short just because you had too many empty gaps.
So let's share some top tips so you can avoid this happening to you.

Choose a venue the right size

It's so important when choosing a venue to pick one that aligns with your guest numbers. To big and you will absolutley notice the empty spaces.Too small, and you won't be able to see the decorations over the table and chairs.

Make features of your key areas

If you want to make your venue feel full with personality and decor, you need to make more fuss with your key areas to be styled. For example if you are thinking of putting a welcome sign on an easel, it might look a little lonely stood there on it's own. Make it bigger and wider, with extra decor to make it come alive.

Consider ceiling space

It's important not to forget the ceiling height as well as what's on floor and eye level. If you have high beams for example you might want to bring the height down to a more intimate level. There are lots of things you can do including draping and hanging decorations. It is a great way of filling that over head space and making it feel like more of the venue is decorated.

Use Larger Props

When choosing props for your venue think big. Signage and backdrops are the time for going big to create an impact. I know we all love the tablescape details but this is more for your smaller decor pieces. Place larger props in corners and against empty walls to make your venue feel more decorated.

Create a Lounge Area

Ok, so let's say you have a rather large space in your venue that you desperately need to do something with or it is just going to look really odd! Creating a lounge area is a great way of turning an empty space into something useful and totally on trend. If you don't like the idea of a lounge area for guests to chill as it's not the vibe your going for. What about a dance floor area for your guests to party all night long. There is also something you can do with it. Think interactive guests book areas, drinks station or a collect a favour before you go home area.

I hope these tips have helped you choose your wedding props with some ease.
