Spring is always a lovely time of year and a season many people look forward to, including myself. Winter is behind us, longer days are here again and everything is just coming into bloom which gives fresh optimism for the year ahead. With special occasions like mother's day and easter on the horizon, there is something to look forward to and plan for. We are keen to start spending quality time with family and with friends again and having them around for dinner is a fantastic way to do this.
Designing tablescapes is one of my passions and also one of my favourite parts of my job as a wedding stylist. I am obsessed with the little details that make up a table design. From the decorations, to the finer stationery pieces, and not forgetting creating the perfect mood for your event. In this blog post I am sharing some ideas on tablescape designs that would be great for the spring time. I hope that you feel inspired to give these ideas a try and host some amazing dinner parties.

Spring Colours

For me the spring time is all about a feeling of freshness, so I think that pastel colours work particularly well this time of year. Think pale yellow, peach, sage green, soft lilac and dusty blue. This will add a clean and fresh vibe to any table. I also think a green and white combination works wonders too, adding a sense of calm and serenity.
A sage green and lavender theme shown below, gives a serene atmosphere, with succulents from the garden to give a natural earthy look.

A pale yellow and white combination works well for a clean and simple look. Just by adding sweet daisies, it will give a spring like vibe instantly.

This lilac and green tablescape is creating a relaxed vintage vibe which is very suitable for spring time with dainty florals and green bottles.

A warm peach and beige colour combination below works well for a spring tablescape with cream accents and dried florals.

Spring Florals

When I think of the spring time, I think of delicate flowers in bloom. Depending on what your planning and the colour scheme you choose will depend what will fit in with your theme. Daffodil and snowdrop bulbs look beautiful styled on tables for Easter. And meadow style arrangements used as a centrepiece give a wild natural look. I also think a simple vase of daisies is effective and I love seeing a fun mixture of dried florals such as bunny tails, great addition to an easter table set up.

Beige, lavender and pops of white paired with stoneware and crystal decor give a vintage look to spring time if you are looking for something more neutral.

Spring Linens

To keep things light and fresh, using linen table cloths work really well as your foundation. If you would like to add some pattern how about a gingham print or large stripes. This can be very effective and make your other decorations pop when added. Chiffon runners and cheesecloth are also a fantastic choice as they add a bit of texture.

Spring Decorations

Personally I love to see coloured glassware, it's very on trend right now and you can get hold of some gorgeous candle holders, vases and glassware in an array on beautiful colours. The mix and match look is very in so don't be afraid to have a play with the pieces you really love. On the run up to spring, the shops are filled with decorations to choose from, from eggs, to rabbits and baskets galore, to create a wonderful display on on your table. Wicker charger mats also tie in well with a spring theme. Also mixing and matching vintage crockery pieces is a nice look particularly for an afternoon tea for mother's day or a bridal shower brunch.

Spring Stationery

Delicate details bring a spring tablescape together beautifully. Have you noticied how it's those finishing touches that really make a table setting come together. I love these wax seals with a leaf design, it adds a touch of nature to your design. You can add them to name cards, menus or to your gift wrapping. You can find them in the shop here >>
