I'm so excited to dive into this topic today on my blog because I am so passionate about it. Being a multi talented wedding creative has it's challenges believe me, but I know how offering multiply creative skills to couples, can really benefit them and make planning a breeze. I hope you enjoy reading my point of view, because I'm going to be sharing 5 of the biggest benefits of working with a small multi talented wedding team to help you bring your wedding plans to life. It will show you how taking this approach to your planning can massively reduce your stress levels, save you a ton of time, help you create a cohesive vision easily and save you money in the long run, before you've even begun, all so that you can enjoy planning to it's fullest.

First though, I'm sharing with you what my own experience was when I planned my own wedding...

When I got married many moons ago now, I purposefully chose to keep my supplier team reasonable small. The main reason for this was because I didn't want to feel totally stressed out by handling too many people at once for starters, but secondly because feeling a connection between us and the suppliers I got on board was really important to us for piece of mind. I needed to feel like I could trust that they wouldn't let me down. I can tell you this led to a really enjoyable planning process, as I didn't feel at all stress out at any point. (Probably the main reason what attracted me to the wedding industry afterwards!)

What I realised

I recently realised that I approached my first wedding styled shoot that I organised in the exact same way. I chose a small mutli-talented team of wedding suppliers to help me bring me the shoot to life. To show couples you don't need a huge entourage to make your aesthetics come to life. It made me realised how important this topic is to me and I feel inspired to share my point of view with you about it some more.

It actually makes my stomach flip a little bit when I see a styled shoot pop up on social media, with the longest list of suppliers you've ever seen tagged in the caption. Now while this is amazing for collaboration in the wedding industry, this is not so good for our couples, because that to me feels immediately overwhelming. And if I think that with my experience, then what must couples be thinking. It can give the impression that all those suppliers need to be involved in your day to make it happen for starters, but what couples don't see is how difficult that shoot was to organise. For the supplier who plans it all, they deal with a lot of stress communicating with all the individual team members on the run up to the shoot, so that it all runs seamlessly on the day. And takes a lot of time communicating the vision to each supplier involved.

Like I say it's great for inspiration but in reality, to me, if a couple booked that many suppliers they are more likely to experience some anxiety along the way. Which doesn't sound like much fun, does it?!

What I am all about instead

I am about helping couples reduce the stress and the time that wedding planning can take up. So they can actually enjoy the process together. I actually know lots of wedding suppliers who offer an array of different things to couples, but maybe that's because I am drawn to those creatives as I am one myself.

I've already mentioned how having a long list of wedding suppliers can be a lot to handle. It'll naturally make your to do list much longer and you'll have more to sort out when communicating what you want which takes a lot of time and brain power let's be honest, especially if you only get weekends or nights after your long work days to focus on your arrangements. Having a small wedding team will immediately reduce your stress levels. You will have the time to communicate effectively with each supplier, making you feel more at ease and in control. Sending emails back and forth will be much more manageable and easier to keep track of equaling less stress for you.

Seamless Co-ordination

I have been on the receiving end of not hearing from couples for weeks maybe even months, because they are swapped with their to do list. They can't keep up with emailing suppliers wanting more information from them through the process, which is totally understandable. I totally get it. But what this does, is it creates a stop start momentum which is more time consuming on both sides. So when you're working with a smaller team of suppliers seamless communication will naturally occur, which will provide you with an efficient experience which is a massive time saver and stress reliever. When there are long gaps between communicating between supplier and couple, everything takes more time as you have to constantly refresh where you last left off.

Reducing the time wedding planning takes is what every couple dreams of, as it's been described many times as a full time job. Making decisions will be a lot quicker if you get a multi talented team on board because they will be dealing with a variety of aspects all at once for you. You can be spending more time having fun whist the plans come together. If you have a really big wedding team involved it can be a lot harder for you to create a cohesive vision. The true benefits of working with less wedding suppliers who offer multiply creative skills and services go beyond the obvious perks of reducing you stress and saving you time. They allow you to really get know your suppliers and create a bond which is an amazing feeling to have throughout your planning, for supporting you through each stage, and one which will stretch long after your wedding day is over. As you never know when you might want to work with them again in the future or recommend them to your family & friends.
