11 Advantages of hiring props for your wedding

When thinking about what you are going to need for your wedding decor to style your venue, you may have come across the option to hire props to help you create the look you are going for. It's important to weigh up your options before you dive into buying loads of things for your wedding, so I wanted to let you know all the advantages there are for hiring them instead, as it can be easy to think buying them yourselves is the best option.

When looking to hire items for your wedding from a supplier whether it is a stylist or a prop hire company, they will stock props which align with the latest wedding trends. They stock the items that never go out of style and also what is most current. Meaning, any props you choose to hire, you can be confident knowing they will be modern and up to date with the current looks and styles that are trending at that time.

More choice to choose from

A stylist or prop hire company will always be growing their own collection of decorations, meaning you will have loads to choose from. It's a one stop shop! This means you don't have to trail and search all over different places to find what you want, because they have done the leg work for you. They choose the best of the best, they find decor that you can mix and match so that you can create your own look with the pieces they have found for you. They have an eye for the details and know what looks good together.


Budget Friendly

Hiring props is most certainly cheaper than buying them yourselves. If you're on a tight budget, hiring props is definitely worth the consideration. It is worth asking for quotes on any large quantities you may need to help bring prices down. In some cases wedding stylists and prop hire companies may offer package deals if you need to hire lots of items to help you decorate. This can often work out much better for you if on a tighter budget. When you buy items in the shops, at first glance things may seem a good price, but wait until you have to buy it in a larger quantity, this is where hiring saves you tons of money.

Better Quality 

Of course there are lots of props available in the shops you can buy. Supermarkets even sell wedding decor these days! But I have seen it first hand myself and let me tell you it is very poor quality. Half the stuff I have picked up and viewed myself isn't even put together that well, there is no care and pride in these cheap products that are mass produced. My advice is to not waste any money on these items as they are cheap for a reason. You don't want to display things that are falling apart, just because you are maybe having a diy wedding, doesn't mean that it has to look like one.Your wedding day is special and deserves the best you can afford.

The most amazing thing about hiring props is that you are very likely to find all sorts of decor pieces that are one of a kind. And most defiintely not available in the shops!! I spend countless hours hunting down special treasures for couples to use. Items that you may not of even thought about will be available to you, and open you up to many more ideas. Many prop companies and creative stylists offer a bespoke prop hire service, where you can have something especially made just for your wedding. After all why would you have the same as every one else, and this way it can be tailored to your wedding style, colours and vibe. Which a very exciting prospect! Depending on who you are hiring props from, will depend on what services they include too. Some prop companies may charge for the items to be delivered, and setting them up themselves will be included in the price. Where as others may work like a drop off and pick up service, meaning you will have to move the items yourself when they are dropped off, then make sure they are ready to collect when pick up is arranged for. Wedding stylists who offer prop hire, like myself, will also offer a set up service as well. So, its definitely worth taking some time to factor in this kind of thing when you're on the hunt!

Space Saver

 Another benefit of hiring props and not buying them is, you won't have to store them around your home, before the big day. Depending on how big your wedding is, buying wedding props will definately take over your home whether you like it or not. If you don't have much spare room in your house, hiring them is the answer to your prayers! Especially if your wedding is a year or two away, you would have it all that time, taking up space.


Time Saver

It's easy to forget that searching for props for your wedding takes a lot of time. There are many tasks to be done during planning, and getting everything to bring the whole look together can be very time consuming. Searching for the decorations, pricing everything up, going to get it, or spending time ordering it. You could save yourself so much valuable time by hiring it all on the day instead. If you have accumulated a lot of props, then you may have to hire a vehicle, which can be very costly. You also need to check that everything is packed well to avoid breakages. As well as not having all the hassle before the wedding day, you also won't have the hassle of dealing with the props after the wedding day. You won't have the responsibility of putting everything away, cleaning everything and storing it all until you decide what to do with it. Buying decor when you could hire it from a company, is not as eco-friendly to the planet. A lot of my own collection has been carefully considered. I make sure I choose things that can be styled in multiply ways. I search for vintage antiques and up-cycle and turn those un-loved pieces into something new and exciting, giving them a new lease of life.
