Making a wedding favour for your guests to eat is the ultimate thoughtful gift. If you spend the time to hand bake some cookies ahead of the big day, I can guarantee this will put a smile on everyones faces. Kids will love tucking into them, and your family and friends will be so impressed with your skills. It is also a great gift to make ahead of time, as if kept in a sealed container they will keep really well. You may want to bake a family recipe or share your favourite with everyone.
For this recipe we are using white chocolate (my husbands favourite!), but you could almost certainly change this to dark or milk chocolate depending on your taste. I hope this step by step tutorial will help encourage you to bake for your guests as it is super easy with very satisfying results!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
75g Brown Sugar
Few drops of Vanilla Essence
150g Self Raising Flour
100g White Chocolate
Gather all your ingredients. Pre-heat the oven (180C Fan)
Grease and line two baking trays.
Weigh out all your butter.
Weigh all your brown sugar, then add to the butter.
Cream together till combined with a wooden spoon.
Add a capful of vanilla essence to the mixture.
Add 1 egg to the mixture and mix well till combined.
Set aside, then weigh out your flour in a separate bowl.
Sift into your butter mixture.
Combine with a wooden spoon till it all comes together.
Chop up your white cooking chocolate roughly.
Add to the bowl of ingredients and mix well till all combined.
Spoon the mixture out in small heaps, leaving space in between them. Ours made 10 cookies. Place them in your pre-heated oven for 10-15 minutes, until slightly golden.
When ready take them out and leave to cool on a wire rack.
Obviously if you are making for a large number of wedding guests, I would advise doubling up the ingredients and doing them in batches.
We have wrapped them with cellophane bags tied with gold bakers twine and a Made With Love Favour Tag foiled in gold to compliment the colour of the cookie.
