Who doesn't want there wedding planning journey to be as seamless as possible? I hate to break it to but no matter what you do and how well prepared you are for it there will possibly be a few hiccups, and that's ok! You are planning a big occasion that is taking a long period of time to plan, so of course you will run into a problem now and again.
The good news is that there are things you can do to help you sail through the process with less stress.
Have a budget to follow
If you work out your budget from the off, you will be much happier whilst planning. Over spending will just have the worst effort on your mood towards the day itself. The last thing you want is thinking negative thoughts on the day, like, 'the guests better enjoy the food as I blew the budget on it'.
Don't do it alone
It's never wise to think you can do the planning all yourself, it's a huge task to undertake and you don't want to burn out just before the wedding day itself! You have other commitments, work, friends, family, and hobbies so don't think you are letting yourself down if you ask for help. There are wedding planners, stylists, co-ordinators and your family and friends will want to help.
Have a clear vision
One of the mistakes couples make at the beginning of planning, is not having a clear vision of what they want. Having a vision to follow will set you up for success by giving you a road map to follow to help you stay on track, so every time you have a decision to make you will find it easier to decide. If you need some help deciding on your overall vision, I am a wedding stylist who can help you figure it all out with my consultation service.
Having everything written down whether it is in a physical planner or on your computer is so important so you don't lose your mind. Know what you have to do and when to do it will save you so much time and energy. There are lots of apps that can make planning simple so it is easy to keep on top of without losing track.
Stop scrolling, & stick with it
Once you have decided on something, stick with it, changing your mind over little things constantly will waste time and use up a lot of your energy. Do your research before you begin and make a decision based on what you love the most. For example, if you keep looking once you have found your dream wedding dress, you are bound to see something else you love, so stop looking as that would be the fastest way to feeling unhappy and you will feel like your never satisfied.
I think that, as long as you put your energy into how to tell your love story to your guests, your day it will be utterly amazing.
I hope these tips help you to sail through the process and I'm sure you will enjoy planning so much more.
