Every year Pinterest release there 'Pinterest Predicts' report. It's based on consumer behaviour on their platform, which means it is based on new trends they are seeing. It's what people are searching for to plan their future life events. I just love looking at what they have discovered, it gets me all excited seeing how I can use the trends myself to inspire my own audience. This year there are some really fun trends to dive into that relate really well for planning special celebrations, which is what I am all about helping you do, so I thought we would take a closer look at my top four favourites.

Groovy Nupitals

70's inspired weddings have increased in popularity among modern couples. This laid back vibe is perfect for couples who want a relaxed wedding day with plenty of character. Some popular ways to achieve this look are macrame decor, patterned rugs, disco balls, and tassels on your stationery. Perfect for the bohemian couple. If you love the retro style this is for you. Camper vans are the perfect mode of transport or used as a fun photo booth, and audio guest books are an alternative twist with vintage telephones to capture loved ones messages that you can treasure forever. The groovy trend is also seeping into pre-wedding celebrations too, as searches for retro hen party decor is up by 35%, meaning brides want to carry the theme all the way through their planning journey. Brides are embracing having a more chilled out celebration with their besties before they officially become a mrs. I am totally here for it!

I created this relaxed bohemian tablescape with fun disco balls and a laid back vibe for a bridal shower brunch which work perfectly with this trending theme. You can take a closer look at more photos here >>

Tropic Like It's Hot

This prediction of Pinterest pleases me no end as I absolutely adore the tropical look. I am not surprised that the searches for tropical chic decor has increased by 110% over the last year. With life feeling heavy sometimes in this digital, fast paced age, consumers are after an escapist aesthetic to get lost in so they feel like they have found an oasis. This look includes lots of rattan furniture and bold tropical prints with hot pink for contrast against all the lush botanical life. Alternatively a coconut aesthetic is on the rise if you prefer a calmer take on the trend. Serving cocktails or mocktails to your guests is also a fun way to provide a new experience that they will enjoy. So make sure to make a fuss of your drinks station. Here's some fun drink decor to help you jazz up your bar.

Bow Stacking

It seems people are going giddy for bows again. We tend to think of them as adding them to your outfit, but we are seeing them being used as hair and shoe accessories to help style out your attire. There are many other places you could add them for your event, such as a bridal bouquet, around your invitation suite, or when it comes to styling your table decorations, what about adding them to your place cards, or tied around your napkins for a pretty delicate detail. You could even add them to the backs of chairs. You can get ribbon to make a bow in all the different colours as well as fun patterns, and in different materials too, like lace, hessian, and velvet for a luxe feel. Bows are a fun detail to experiment with and it makes me want to play more with them this year.

Cafe Core

I also really love this trend because I am always saving cosy cafe pin images on my own secret pinterest board, so I am more than likely contributing to this one myself! I think it's going to be huge this year as searches for coffee bar styling has gone up a massive 1,125%. It's all about bringing the coffee shop vibes inside. So we are talking coffee station decor with coffee bar styling, and chalkboard signage with a warm and inviting aesthetic. It's about making your space sociable with lots of character. Using down to earth ideas with a modern twist to bring things right up to date.

I create chalkboard lettering for signage for events which fits right in with this style, if you would like to read more about that service you can take a look here >>
